U.S. and S. Korean Firm to Establish Salah al-Din Airport

The investment commission in Salah al-Din has signed a contract with a joint U.S.-South Korean company to build an airport in Salah al-Din.

“An investment contract has been signed to establish Salah al-Din International Airport, under which the U.S.-South Korean firm will invest in the airport for 25 years in return for 15 percent of the revenues…,” a source from the investment commission told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

The time frame for completing the project is 24 months, the source indicated

The airport will be located 10 km east of Tikrit City, the source added.

Tikrit, the capital city of Salah al-Din province, lies 175 km north of Baghdad.
