Basra Council Head, Iranian Consul Discuss Construction Projects

Aswat al-Iraq reports that the head of the provincial council in Basra has met with the Iranian consul in the province to discuss the development of relations and cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the field of construction.

“The talks have tackled the possibility of benefiting from the experience of Iranian companies in the establishment of construction projects in the province,” according to a statement received by the agency.

The Iranian official invited the local authorities in the province to attend an exhibition held by Iranian firms in Basra.

Oil revenues will boost the region’s finances immeasurably over the coming years, and this will lead to a boom in the construction industry in the Basra area.
