Iraqi-Iranian discussions took place in Basra about starting an Iranian commercial center that embraces offices of Iranian firms in the province.
“The Iranian consulate in Basra proposed the commercial center as an investment project,” Hayder Ali Fadhil, director of the Basra Investment Commission, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency on Wednesday.
He said that the building will consist of 200 rooms.
“The commission offered the land suitable for the project,” Fadhil said.
He stressed that the project will activate business in Basra.
The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad.
