The Iraqi Ministry of Water Resources on Sunday said it has begun reclamation works along the Euphrates River in Anbar.
“Technical teams and engineers from the State Authority for Irrigation and Reclamation Projects are currently doing reclamation works on a total area of 103,000 donums along the Euphrates River,” read the statement that was received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The project will be carried out in two stages, the statement indicated.
Ramadi, the capital city of Anbar province, lays 110 west of Baghdad.
