Ministry of Oil Demands Importing Companies, to Declare Payments… Again

Ministry of oil reiterated requests for importing companies of Iraqi crude oil to announce the size and numbers of payments to the country according to prior claim by Minister Hussain al-Shahristani.

Ministry’s Spokesman, Assem Jihad, said in a press statement, on Monday, that Oil Minister Hussain al-Shahristani called earlier for the international oil companies to announce their payments and quantities of oil purchased from Iraq.

He pointed out that this applies under the principle of transparency adopted by the Ministry of Oil in dealing with the Iraqi oil export, so these numbers will be identical with the figures announced by the ministry.

He added that Iraq’s membership in the Global Transparency Initiative emphasizes its significance as oil producer not only in region, but world wide, noting that the claim also aims to submit size and quantities of oil to global inspection and local communities.
