The investment commission in Muthanna has granted two permits to local investors for the establishment of a residential city and markets in the province.
“The Muthanna commission has granted 36 investment permits to local and foreign companies thus far,” an official from the commission’s public relations department, Ali Hannon, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The residential city will be built in western Samawa at a total cost of 177 billion Iraqi dinars (ID). It will include 2,000 housing units and is expected to be completed within three years, Hannoun pointed out.
Meanwhile, the markets will be established in al-Rumaytha district (35 km north of Samawa) at a cost of ID2.757 billion, he added.
Samawa, the capital city of Muthanna, lies 280 km south of Baghdad.
