The Iraqi Stock Exchange (ISX) index went up by 2.3% to close at 93.3 points on Tuesday .
Shares of 10 companies went up, 14 down while 9 others retained their previous rates.
The number of shares traded hit 1.3 billion worth 2 billion Iraqi dinars (roughly 1.7 million U.S. dollars) through 227 deals.
The banking sector took the lead during Tuesday’s session with 81% of the trading activities through 112 deals worth ID1.6 billion over 11 banks, followed by the insurance sector with 10% and the hotel sector with 3% through 37 deals over eight firms.
