250 Turkish Businessmen to Visit Kurdistan in September

Some 250 Turkish businessmen will visit the Iraqi Kurdistan region in September to probe investment opportunities in the semi-autonomous area, revealed the trade counselor in the Turkish consulate in Arbil on Thursday.

“There are about 1,000 Turkish companies working inside Iraq, mostly in the Iraqi Kurdistan region,” said the Turkish diplomat in a press conference held in Sheraton Hotel in the city.

He said that trade exchange between Turkey and Iraq’s Kurdistan hit $9 billion since 2009, adding a free market will be opened on the border point between the two sides.
