Baghdad Mayoralty Earmarks ID10b to Ameliorate Services in Sadr City

The Baghdad Mayoralty will allocate 10 billion Iraqi dinars (ID) as emergency funds to improve services in the eastern Baghdad district of Sadr City, according to the mayoralty chief, Saber al-Issawi, on Sunday.

Issawi made the remarks during an inspection tour of Sadr City escorted by officials in Sadr 1 and Sadr 2 municipalities  as well as officials in the drinking water, sanitary sewage and afforestation sectors.

“An expanded meeting was held on the sidelines of the tour at the Sadr City Municipal Council to discuss projects urgently needed in the district,” Issawi was quoted in a Mayoralty statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
