Marine Official: Largest Two Tugs Will Operate in Oil Ports

Captain Salim Jabbar, marine navigation department manager in Iraqi Ports Company, said “The largest two tugs, Al-Fayha’a and AlAshaar, will serve the Iraqi ports company, which will contribute to departing and docking operations from Basrah and Al-Ameeq oil ports.”

He added in an exclusive statement to Eye media reporter that “Iraqi ports are on the way to competing with Gulf ports and that the staff in the marine department had been trained perfectly on marine IT in different places of the world like Denmark, Canada, Turkey and Norway.”

He pointed out that the development work of the Iraqi ports was made possible by great support submitted from the state company manager and the minister of transportation. There are other big projects for another tug from Malaysia
