Major Bridge to Re-Open in Baiji

The Iraqi Industry Ministry has finalized the project to rehabilitate the al-Fatiha Bridge in Baiji (Bayji), north of Tikrit city.

“This bridge is considered one of the biggest, most important bridges in Iraq, because it links the two provinces of Salah al-Din and Kirkuk,” the ministry said in a statement on Sunday, received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

It noted that oil trucks use the bridge to deliver oil products from the North Refineries Company (NRC) in Baiji, 40 km north of Tikrit.

“The bridge will be opened soon,” the release pointed out.
