Kentz Corporation Limited, the holding company of the Kentz engineering and construction group, has positioned itself for further project opportunities in Iraq.
In its annual report, issued this morning, the company said:
“One area, where we see significant outlook for both capex and opex contracts is in Iraq. During the period Kentz took a 49% stake in an Iraqi company, Dome General Contracting Company Ltd, thereby offering local content coupled with all of the Kentz service offerings for future opportunities. We have already secured our first contract in country.
“During 2010 our investment in DomeGeneral Contracting Company Ltd. (Iraq) was completed to support our strategy to provide process and non-process EPC services for upstream infrastructure development in Iraq. Kentz was recently awarded an engineering services contract with a leading international oil company for upstream oil facilities. The scope includes front end engineering design (FEED) and geotechnical and topographical surveying of a 900 hectare block covering well sites, well clusters and intra-field roads, the central processing facility, water intake and accommodation for operations people. Following the FEED, Kentz will provide detailed engineering design for the well sites, well clusters and intra-field roads and construction management for the project. The project positions Kentz well for further project opportunities in Iraq.”
