A high-profile Spanish delegation headed by the Spanish Economic Minister is expected to visit Kurdistan next week to boost relations with the region.
The Spanish delegation will be the first such high level visit to Kurdistan Region, according to AKnews.
During the several-day visit to Kurdistan, the Spanish delegation is also expected to participate in an economic conference to be held in Erbil’s Rotana Hotel between local and Spanish businessmen.
Fathi Mohammed, an adviser at the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG)’s Ministry of Trades and Industry told AKnews that the economic conference will be held with 60 Spanish and local investors, and that bilateral Spanish-Kurdish meetings will on the agenda of the conference.
“This Spanish delegation’s Kurdistan visit will positively urge Spanish companies to come to the region and invest here” said Dara Jalil Khayat, head of the Industry and Commerce Chamber of Kurdistan.
The delegation is also expected to visit Duhok and Sulaimniyah cities.
