A book fair exhibiting 15,000 titles has been opened in Erbil city’s Central Library.
The book fair, organized by the media group Hana Group, in line with its motto “Books for all”, brings together 25 publishers from Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt and Iran and is expected to continue for 10 days.
The book fair is part of the efforts of the Kurdistan Democratic Youth Union, associate organizers of the fair, to introduce greater numbers of books to Kurdish readers and promote book sales in the region.
“The fair introduces some 8,000 new titles to Kurdistan” said Hana Group director, Handren Abdulqadir.
Visitors to fair will benefit from a 20% to 40% discount, in an effort to promote sales.
