British Companies Considering Iraq

UK major companies and businesspeople are seeking to develop business cooperation with their Jordanian and Iraqi counterparts, an official from the British embassy in Amman said on Monday, according to a report from AKnews.

Steven Anderson, head of trade and investment section at the UK embassy in Amman, pointed out that representatives of 15 companies working in the fields of energy, health and real estate are currently in a visit to the Kingdom, adding that the business delegation held talks with directors of Jordanian and Iraqi firms on investment opportunities in the two countries.

He noted that the British delegates held meetings with large number of businesspeople from Jordan and Iraq on Tuesday.

“Around $100 billion were spent on investments over the past five years in Iraq, and we hope today’s meetings will result in good agreements between UK and Iraq,” Anderson told The Jordan Times on the sidelines of the meetings.
