Aswat al-Iraq reports that an Iraqi oil pipeline, carrying crude oil to Syria, was blown up northwest of Mosul on Sunday, stopping oil exports to Syria
Ninewa police source said “a group of armed men have blown an oil pipeline carrying crude oil from northwestern Mosul’s Ain-Zalah refinery to Syria”, adding that the explosion took place close to the refinery in Zommar village, 90 km [55 miles] to the northwest of Mosul.
He said that the oil pipeline had been slightly damaged by the explosion, but caused the stoppage of oil exports through the pipeline until its repair.
Mosul, the center of Ninewa Province, is 405 km to the north of Baghdad.
