Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) have reportedly been signed between 12 bordering provinces of Iraq and Iran, according to a report from AKnews.
The governor of Erbil, Nawzad Hadi, said the memorandums were signed between cities bordering Iran and Iraq at a conference in Iran in the presence of a number of Iranian government officials.
“The conference was held to strengthen economic and trade relations between both parties and to improve border crossings and customs”, he said.
Erbil province in the past signed a memorandum with West Azerbaijan. This time the province signed a memorandum with Krmashan and Khozistan.
Trade between Iran and Iraq reached $5 billion (5.8 trillion IQD) last year.
