US Introduces Groundbreaking Language Program

The U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Office introduced its innovative “Trace Effects” English language teaching tool to Iraqi educators during a March 9 seminar in downtown Baghdad.

Trace Effects is a groundbreaking, 3-D, immersive video game designed by the Department of State for young English language learners. Trace Effects is offered free of charge, both online and through DVDs distributed by U.S. Embassies worldwide.

The game complements students’ classroom English language instruction through interactive 3-D multimedia learning activities. It exposes users to U.S. society and explores themes related to community activism, entrepreneurship, environmental conservation, women’s empowerment, science and innovation, and conflict resolution.

This Trace Effects teacher training workshop is part of the U.S. Embassy’s English Language Program designed to promote cultural and social exchange between the United States and Iraq as outlined in the Strategic Framework Agreement.
