At least 35 Iraqi soldiers have been killed outside of Fallujah while advancing on the second day of an offensive against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) group.
The Iraqi army is surrounding Fallujah and is shelling ISIL-held areas, which has led to growing concern for up to 50,000 civilians trapped in the city.
