KRG Minister concludes Official Visit to Korea

KRG Minister of Foreign Relations concluded a three-day visit to the Republic of Korea.

The aim of the visit, which was upon the invitation of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was to review the existing cooperation and exchange views on further broadening bilateral ties.

In his visit to the Korean National Defense Ministry, Minister Mustafa met with Mr. Yoon Soon-gu, Director General of the Ministry's International Policy Bureau. They discussed the latest advances of Peshmerga forces against ISIS and stressed the importance of international cooperation in combatting international terrorism.

Minister Mustafa also met with President of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Mr. Kim In Shik. The Minister expressed KRG’s appreciation for KOICA’s continued support and contributions to the development of the Kurdistan Region. Both sides spoke of KOICA’s projects in Kurdistan and ways and means of further strengthening the partnership between KOICA and KRG.

During the visit, Minister Mustafa delivered a speech at the Korea Institute for International Economy Policy where her gave a detailed account of the complex humanitarian, financial, and security challenges facing the KRG and the socioeconomic impact of the challenges in Kurdistan.

Minister Mustafa also met with the Ambassador of Iraq Wadee Batti Hanna at the Iraqi Embassy in Seoul.
