The Chairman of Iraq’s National Investment Commission (NIC), Dr. Sami Al- Araji, confirmed during his meeting with the Netherlands Ambassador to Baghdad, the National Investment Commission’s willingness to create huge economic partnerships between Iraq and Netherlands in various sectors.

Dr. Al- Araji said during the meeting that the commission is ready to grant investors willing to invest in Iraq all facilities and incentives guaranteed by Iraqi investment law, adding that the Iraqi market is very promising.

He said Iraq has very fertile soil for planting great investments.

The Dutch Ambassador to Baghdad confirmed his country’s desire to reinforce economic relations and to utilize the available opportunities to enter the Iraqi market in a way that is beneficial to both countries.

A Dutch company will design a model for low-cost housing in Maysan [Missan], a spokesperson for the Dutch companies in Missan last week.

“A Dutch group specialized in housing projects has agreed with the State Ministry for Marshes Development to design low-cost houses,” Jaseb al-Marsoumi told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“The government will receive the first model in early October,” he added.

“The project will contribute in solving the housing problem in the province, benefiting from the Dutch company’s experience in this field,” al-Marsoumi noted.

The Dutch ambassador to Iraq, Peter van Leeuwen, visited Basra province to discuss investment opportunities with local officials.

“During the visit, the ambassador had a close look at investment project and opportunities that could attract Dutch firms to Iraq,” the Basra Investment Commission said in a statement on Tuesday, as received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

It explained that the Dutch ambassador and Basra local officials discussed the Iraqi investment law as well.
