Minister of Industry and Minerals Franso Fawzi al-Hariri met yesterday the Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea in the ministry's headquarters in Baghdad.
During the meeting they discussed ways of strengthening cooperation between the two countries and open new vistas of cooperation in diverse industrial areas. The Minister of Industry pointed out to the need for cooperation with industry, public and private sectors in the implementation of many projects in accordance with the principle of participation in production, especially in the field of heavy industries, petrochemicals, iron and steel.
He also stressed the importance of exchanging visits between the two countries to look closely at the reality of work in the specialized companies with a view to promote its industrial reality, and to take advantage of investment opportunities available in Iraq. He stressing to provide all possible facilities and to find ways to support South Korean specialized companies, pointing out that the government's policy of consolidating international companies to participate in the reconstruction of Iraq.
For his part, the Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea expressed desire to enter the Iraqi market in various industrial fields, thus contributing to the development of aspects of future cooperation between the two countries.
