An Iraqi investment expert said that Qadisiyah [Al-Qādisiyyah] has 14 archeological and religious sites that could be invested in, to draw large numbers of tourists and pilgrims into the province.
Abbas Anid Ghanem indicated the presence of these sites encourages investment opportunities in the province, according to a report from AKnews.
"Some of these sites are archeological including Navarre [Nuffar] city – the oldest religious city in Iraq – in Afak district, Wena and Sdom.”
"The religious sites include many of the tombs and shrines of the Prophets, like Prophet Ayoub at the city center and shrine of Prophet Mudien, located 4 km south of the city.”
"There are other religious sites that would enable the city to become a destination for religious tourism, if appropriate investments were made,” said Ghanem.
"There must be a simplified mechanism for investment, that woudl create a partnership between the provincial council and the Department of Antiquities in Diwaniya.”
