The rehabilitation of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad requires an investment of $15 billion [18 trillion Iraqi dinars] over the next 10 years, Baghdad’s Mayor said on Sunday.
Sabir al-Issawi [Saber al-Issawi] (pictured) gave the figure in response to a question addressed to him by Iraq’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, in a meeting attended by chairmen of the Independent Commissions.
This investment is in addition to the funding required to improve infrastructure in the city.
