Minister Mustafa praised these initiatives, saying that the ongoing development and progress of Kurdistan is greatly assisted by the engagement of the international community in the Region.
“There is no doubt that there is much that we can learn from the experience of Polish experts in a variety of fields. We would like to see greater Polish investment in the private sector and increased coordination between our provincial and city governments and between our chambers of commerce and industry as well,” he said.
Both sides also discussed the need to strengthen bilateral relations through holding more regular meetings between political leaders and talked about potential opportunities for partnership initiatives in agriculture, industry, tourism and education.
The group also attended a forum with the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry and met with the KRG Minister of Higher Education, Dr Ali Saeed, the Governor of Erbil, Mr Nawzad Hadi, and the Governor of Suleimaniah, Mr Bahroz Qashany, as well as a number of other KRG representatives and provincial officials in both Erbil and Suleimaniah during their three day visit.
Amongst other officials, the delegation included the Deputy Head of Mission of Poland’s Embassy to Iraq, Counselor Jerzy Zielinski, and their meeting at the KRG Department of Foreign Relations was also attended by the Department’s Deputy Head, Mr Karwan Jamal.
