Minister Falah Mustafa said this move was warmly welcomed by the KRG.
The ministers also discussed developments in Iraq and Syria. They spoke about the political crisis in Iraq and the way forward considering the challenges facing the political process. The Kurdish ministers reiterated the KRG's commitment to the constitution and to dialogue.
Mr Mustafa said the KRG had received about 40,000 Syrian refugees and the numbers were likely to increase dramatically if the humanitarian situation continued to worsen in Syria. He asked that Britain and others in the international community assist the KRG in handling the large number of refugees.
He added that President Barzani had consistently encouraged the Kurdish opposition in Syria to be united and to participate in the broader opposition. He said ultimately the decisions are for the Syrians to make but the rights of Kurds should be recognised within the country.
