US Contactor Jailed for Iraq Bribery

An American military contractor has been sentenced to 4-1/2 years in federal prison in relation to bribes for contracts Iraq.

George H. Lee Jr., aged 72, pleaded guilty to bribery earlier this year, following prosecution claims that he gave more than $1 million to Army officials who steered $20 million in contracts his way. reports that Lee's son, Justin, and five high-ranking officers have all pleaded guilty and implicated Lee or his companies - American Logistics Services and Lee Dynamics - in the bribery scheme. Nearly all have been sentenced to prison terms.

Lee is also barred from seeking any government contract work in the three years after his release.
