Anbar Governor Sacks all Aides

By John Lee.

The Governor of Anbar province, Sohaib al-Rawi [Suhaib al-Rawi] (pictured), has said he is dismissing all of his aides and advisers, as well as district managers who had been in their posts for more than four years or had performed poorly, according to a report from Reuters.

The move is seen as part of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi's crackdown on corruption and incompetence, and comes two days after parliament unanimously approved Abadi's wide ranging reform plan.
