ISIL has long identified Haditha as a target. The armed group has been attacking the city for over 18 months but tribal fighters and Iraqi security forces have fought back with the help of US airstrikes. The town in Anbar province however is besieged and the people who remain there need urgent assistance to survive. The government is airlifting supplies. Al Jazeera's Zeina Khodr reports
