Mr. Dominique Mas, the new Consul General of the Republic of France to the Kurdistan Region, was received today by the Head of the Department of Foreign Relations, Minister Falah Mustafa.
Minister Bakir congratulated Mr. Mas and assured him that the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) stands ready to extend to him all the necessary support and assistance for his mission, and wished him success in his new posting.
Minister Mustafa said that France is an important ally and a friend of the people of Kurdistan. He commended the support and solidarity of the French government with the Kurdistan Region. Both sides reviewed the existing cooperation and shared views on further strengthening ties in order to build a long-term partnership.
They also discussed the current challenges facing the Kurdistan Region and the looming humanitarian fallout from the Mosul Operation.
Mr. Mas replaces the former Consul General Mr. Alain Guépratte.
