By John Lee.

The Iraqi Oil Exploration Company recently marked the successful completion of seismic surveys for the two-dimensional Haifa program in the Al-Najaf province.

According to the Ministry of Oil, the surveys, conducted by the company, covered extensive areas within record time. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Oil's plan to conduct seismic surveys throughout Iraq, from north to south, in line with its strategy to locate oil and gas resources.

Mr. Osama Raouf, the General Manager of the Oil Exploration Company, reported that the seismic surveys in the second section (Block 1) of the Haifa program achieved an impressive 99% completion rate, covering 2680.35 kilometers in record time. Furthermore, the sixth seismic team (Block 2) accomplished over 98% of its program, spanning 1990.5 kilometers.

The event concluded with the presentation of commemorative gifts and awards. The seismic surveys aim to explore hydrocarbon resources, including oil and gas, in the southwestern border areas between Al-Najaf and Al-Anbar provinces.
