Iraqi, Turkiye "Relax Visa Requirements"

By John Lee.

Iraq's Deputy Foreign Minister for Multilateral Relations and Legal Affairs, Omar Al-Barzanji, conducted a field visit to the consular section of the Iraqi Embassy in Ankara.

During the visit, he reviewed the workflow, listened to the primary challenges faced by Iraqis residing in Turkiye, and discussed proposals to overcome these obstacles and improve services. He urged consular staff to intensify their efforts, expedite the processing of citizens' transactions, and provide the best services possible.

Al-Barzanji emphasized that the embassy serves as a humanitarian gateway for providing services to Iraqis and as a political and economic gateway for enhancing bilateral relations with other countries.

According to a report from Rudaw, Al-Barzanji said that Iraq and Turkiye have agreed to waive visa requirement between the two countries for those under the age of 15, and for those over the age of 50.
