The Iraqi Ministry of Health has renewed its strategic partnership with Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services in Iraq.

This renewal follows a year of fruitful collaboration that has seen the launch of several ambitious projects aimed at improving the quality of healthcare and expanding access to innovative services across the country.

Key aspects of the renewed agreement include a strong focus on digital transformation within Iraq's healthcare sector. This will involve the development of national digital tools and solutions designed to improve health decision-making and provide high-quality, data-driven care. The agreement also emphasizes the continuation of educational initiatives to raise awareness about the importance of early disease detection, which is crucial for improving treatment outcomes and preventing the progression of illnesses.

The contract renewal was signed by Dr. Ahmed Sami, Director General of the State Company for Drugs and Medical Appliances (Kimadia), on behalf of the Ministry of Health, and Dr. Ayman Haj Ibrahim, Director of Roche in Iraq, on Monday, September 2, 2024, with relevant ministry officials in attendance.

Roche has committed to leveraging its expertise and resources to support the Ministry's efforts in advancing the Iraqi healthcare sector. Dr. Ahmed Sami highlighted the significant developments in Iraq's healthcare system and expressed confidence that, with the support of global partners like Roche, further achievements can be realized. He emphasized that digital transformation and enhanced diagnostic capabilities are integral to the Ministry's future plans.
