The Chairman of Iraq's National Investment Commission (NIC), Dr. Haider Mohammed Makkiya, has laid the foundation stone for Iraq's tallest skyscraper, part of the Downtown Baghdad project.
This iconic development will feature the capital's first high-rise tower, standing at 65 stories, along with eight additional towers. The project includes over 1,300 residential units and aims to modernize Baghdad's urban landscape with world-class architectural designs.
In his speech, Makkiya highlighted the significance of this landmark project, which aligns with global urban design trends and represents a major step in Iraq's architectural and urban development. He expressed hope that the project would inspire similar ventures in the future. The tower will house residential, commercial, and conference facilities, using advanced materials and construction techniques employed for the first time in Iraq.
The ceremony was attended by key figures, including the Minister of Construction and Housing, Benkin Rikani, Baghdad Mayor Ammar Musa, and other officials, who underscored the government's strong support for projects that enhance the living standards of Iraqi citizens.
