Iraq's Ministry of Planning has held an election conference to select members of the Permanent Council for Private Sector Development.
Minister of Planning, Dr. Muhammad Ali Tamim, highlighted the years of collaborative efforts that led to the council's formation, emphasizing its role in decision-making and as a fundamental partner in economic development.
A statement from the Planning Ministry said that this initial step will soon be followed by the election of a deputy council chair, reflecting the government's strong commitment to involving the private sector in economic policy.
It added that representatives from Iraq's judiciary, the Independent High Electoral Commission, and private sector unions participated, underscoring the importance of this initiative.
The lengthy statement did not mention who won the election.
