Kirkuk Governor Ribwar Taha Mustafa and Asso Mamand, Head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan's (PUK) Organisational Bureau, have laid the foundation stone for the Rahimawa (Al-Ikhwan) Tunnel project, under the supervision of Kirkuk Municipality.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Kirkuk Provincial Council, advisors, directors of government departments, and political and security officials. The Governor highlighted the tunnel's importance in easing congestion in a key area of Kirkuk, describing the project as part of a unified development effort for the city.
He also acknowledged the contributions of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning, the Minister of Justice, Kirkuk Municipality, and technical teams. Future projects are planned in Dibis, Hawija, Daquq, Taza, Altun Kupri, and across Kirkuk province.
