Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has laid the foundation stone for the Suq Al-Shoyokh Infrastructure Project in Dhi Qar Province, reaffirming the government's commitment to service delivery and job creation for local residents.
The 505-billion-dinar [$386 million] project will provide fully serviced neighbourhoods, including sewerage, stormwater systems, and water treatment facilities, aiming to enhance environmental conditions and promote the use of treated water for irrigation.
Al-Sudani described the initiative as long-overdue justice for a district that has endured years of neglect.
With a population of approximately 200,000, Suq Al-Shoyokh is located about 300 kilometers [190 miles] southwest of Baghdad.
