Tal Afar: The Forgotten City
Tal Afar, despite being one of Iraq's largest and most historic districts, has suffered decades of neglect and severe destruction without adequate government support.
The wider Nineveh province, to which it belongs, struggles with administrative inefficiency, delayed development projects, and strained relations between its centre and outlying districts.
The research argues that creating a separate governorate for Tal Afar and other districts would improve governance, meet local needs more effectively, and address long-standing marginalisation.
