During their meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministers Hussein and Cassis discussed bilateral relations, ways to deepen political and economic cooperation, and developments in regional and international affairs. Both sides underscored the importance of continued constructive dialogue and practical cooperation to serve mutual interests and promote regional stability.

In a joint press conference, Minister Hussein noted that discussions covered cooperation on water resource management, an area in which Switzerland has significant expertise. The ministers also explored opportunities for partnership between Iraqi and Swiss companies and preparations to sign a double taxation avoidance agreement.

The talks included migration issues, with Minister Hussein highlighting recent understandings reached with the EU and several countries. He welcomed Switzerland's decision to begin issuing visas for Iraqis directly through its embassy in Baghdad and discussed possible visa exemptions for diplomatic passport holders. He also welcomed the visit of the Speaker of the Swiss Parliament as part of the delegation, calling it a sign of deepening bilateral relations.

Minister Cassis praised Iraq's urban development and expressed pride in the growing partnership between the two countries.
