Iraq reports Inflation Drop in October

By John Lee.

Iraq's Ministry of Planning has reported a decrease in both monthly and annual inflation rates for October 2025, but its announcement did not mention the actual rates.

Ministry spokesperson Abdul Zahra al-Hindawi said field teams from the Central Statistical Organisation (CSO) recorded a 0.3% fall in monthly inflation compared with September, while annual inflation dropped 0.5% versus October 2024.

He noted that the decline was driven primarily by lower food and non-alcoholic beverage prices, which fell 0.5%, including a 4.9% decrease in fish and 2.4% in fruit. The housing category also recorded a 1% decline. Other categories saw minor fluctuations or remained stable.
