The directive was issued by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, with exemptions granted for service-related sectors required to maintain operations.

In a related development, the Iraq Stock Exchange (ISX) announced that no trading session will be held on Thursday, 26th March 2026, due to the same weather conditions.

The exchange confirmed that trading sessions will resume on Sunday, 29th March 2026.

Heavy rain is expected to continue until Thursday evening.
