Turkey's Imas has signed a third agreement with Iraq's Mokhalad Group for the construction of an additional flour mill project in Iraq, reinforcing an ongoing partnership in the country's milling sector.
The latest agreement follows two earlier projects, bringing the total number of flour mills developed for Mokhalad Group to three. Each facility has a capacity of 500 tonnes per day (TPD).
The combined scale of the projects represents approximately 500,000 tonnes of annual wheat processing capacity.
- First 500 TPD flour mill operational in Tikrit since end-2024
- Second 500 TPD project agreed in July 2025
- Third 500 TPD project agreed in August 2025
- New projects expected to be commissioned by end-2026
The initial plant, located in Tikrit in Salah Ad-Din province, was designed with two independent milling units of 250 TPD each. It incorporates full automation from wheat intake to flour packaging, with centralised process management, reporting systems, and remote connectivity.
The repeat orders indicate continued investment in domestic flour production capacity, aimed at supplying bakery and all-purpose flour to the local market.
Muhammed Uzun, Sales and Marketing Director at Imas, said the company aims to maintain a long-term partnership with Mokhalad Group as it expands its milling operations.
Imas, a Turkish manufacturer of grain and feed milling technologies, operates globally with projects across more than 110 countries.
