The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) announced the reopening of Iraq's airspace and the resumption of civil aviation operations on Wednesday, following an improvement in security conditions.
All civilian flights, including overflights, departures, and arrivals at Iraqi airports, are now permitted to resume in line with approved regulations and safety procedures.
Joint Operations Command (JOC) confirmed that airport operations across the country will restart on Wednesday, following the completion of technical and security measures to ensure safe air navigation.
Key developments include:
- Full reopening of Iraqi airspace to international and domestic flights
- Resumption of operations at all airports nationwide
- Implementation of safety and security protocols in coordination with relevant authorities
- Ongoing coordination with international aviation organisations
Authorities said the Civil Aviation Authority will issue updated flight schedules and operational guidance, advising travellers to check directly with airlines for the latest information on departures and arrivals.
Officials added that the measures aim to restore normal air traffic flows while maintaining high standards of aviation safety and security.
