Iraq's parliamentary Investment and Development Committee has discussed measures to enhance the country's investment environment and support economic growth.
The committee, chaired by MP Nahida Al-Dayni, met to outline its work programme and develop a roadmap aimed at improving investment conditions.
During the session, members emphasised the importance of strengthening oversight of executive bodies responsible for investment, ensuring transparency in the granting of investment licences, and monitoring project implementation.
The committee agreed to prepare a comprehensive action plan that includes:
- Hosting relevant authorities, including the National Investment Commission (NIC) and sectoral ministries
- Identifying key challenges and obstacles facing investment projects
- Developing appropriate solutions to improve performance and delivery
The initiative is intended to support economic development, improve governance in the investment sector, and create employment opportunities.
