  • Nagham Hussein Ismail, Vice President of the Commission, represented the Commission's President at the 20th Annual Meeting of the Council of the Union of Arab Securities Authorities, held remotely under the presidency of the Republic of Tunisia. The meeting addressed several important topics, most notably the regulatory frameworks for cross-border financial activities, enhancing governance and cybersecurity, and reviewing the Union's strategic plan for the years 2026-2030, in addition to initiatives to raise investment awareness. (ISC)
  • Further to the invitation to the Annual General Meeting scheduled for May 3, Bank of Baghdad (BBOB) clarified that the proposed write-off of IQD49.2 bn non-performing loans is an accounting treatment aimed at improving asset quality and financial indicators. The Bank noted that these loans have been fully provisioned and classified as doubtful for an extended period, and will be transferred to off-balance sheet accounts in line with applicable standards, with any future recoveries recognized as income.
  • The ISC approved the request of Baghdad-Iraq Comp. for Public Trans. & Real Est. Inv. (SBPT) for an additional extension period of 1 year to submit its 2025 annual financial statements.
  • Al Mustashar Islamic Bank (BMUI) invited its shareholders to subscribe to 29.0 bn shares starting Apr. 26 from the capital increase to IQD300.0 bn through a 11.60% rights issue and an 8.40% bonus issue. The subscription period is no less than 30 days and no more than 60 days.

Stocks that resumed / will resume trading:

  • Al-Qurtas Islamic Bank (BQUR) resumed trading on Apr. 19 after holding its AGM on Apr. 4, in which they discussed and approved the banking sector reform project, the cancellation of the merger with Erbil Bank (BERI) or any other bank, and the shift from the second track (merger) to the first track (continuity), and the sale of the bank's shareholders' shares to the International Smart Card Company (Qi Card) according to the percentage approved by the CBI for purchasing the bank's shares.
  • Electronic Industries (IELI) resumed trading on Apr. 19 after holding its postponed AGM on Apr. 7, in which they discussed and approved the 2020 annual financial statements.
  • Baghdad for Packing Materials (IBPM) resumed trading on Apr. 20 after holding its AGM on Apr. 5, in which they discussed and approved the 2024 annual financial statements.
  • New shares of Investment Bank of Iraq (BIBI) from the capital increase to IQD300.0 bn through a 2.08% rights issue and a 2.08% bonus issue, resumed trading on Apr. 23.

Stocks that were suspended / will be suspended from trading:

  • ISX suspended trading of National Bank of Iraq (BNOI) starting Apr. 21 due to the AGM that will be held on Apr. 26 to discuss and approve 2025 annual financial statements, dividend distribution, and increasing the paid-in capital from IQD520.0 bn to IQD650.0 bn through a 25.0% bonus issue.
  • ISX will suspend trading of Trans Iraq Bank (BTRI) starting May 25 due to the AGM that will be held on Jun. 1 to discuss and approve 2025 annual financial statements
