Iraqi State Manufacturer to make Smart Surveillance Towers

By John Lee.

The General Company for Hydraulic Industries, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, has announced its capability to design, manufacture and supply smart surveillance towers to government and private-sector clients.

The company's director-general, Engineer Ahmed Jamil, said the towers feature high-precision thermal and night-vision monitoring systems, with direct connectivity to command and control centres. They are also available in armoured, bullet-resistant configurations capable of withstanding harsh environmental conditions, and can be built to each client's specific technical requirements.

In a separate announcement, Ahmed Jamil said the calibration laboratory within the company's Quality Control and Engineering Inspection Department has received accreditation as a central calibration authority on behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals. The accreditation followed the fulfilment of administrative and technical requirements, including:

  • Establishment of a dedicated calibration laboratory
  • Procurement of all necessary calibration equipment
  • Specialist training and authorisation of staff by reference bodies
  • Provision of certified reference measurement gauges
  • Installation of a high-precision, programmed three-dimensional measurement device

The company said it is ready to offer calibration services for measurement instruments including internal and external micrometers, in support of both public and private sector institutions.
