Iraqi E-Commerce Start-Up Secures Six-Figure Investment

By John Lee.

Mabiati, an Iraqi e-commerce platform, has secured a six-figure investment to strengthen its operations, expand its digital infrastructure, and fund the next stage of growth.

Founded by Muhammad Al-Sultan, who has more than a decade of experience in e-commerce and digital business development, Mabiati enables individuals across Iraq to launch and operate online businesses without requiring upfront capital. The platform connects suppliers, sellers, logistics providers, and customers in an integrated system covering product marketing, order processing, fulfilment, and delivery tracking. It also provides creative production support, including product photography and content creation services.

Since its launch, the platform has served more than 20,000 customers across Iraq, with an average growth rate of approximately 40%.

The investment has been used to restructure existing liabilities, expand the workforce, launch a second generation of the platform, upgrade server infrastructure, implement automation systems, develop an in-house production studio, and extend marketing activities through partnerships with advertising agencies and content creators.

Mabiati participated in Orange Corners Baghdad Cohort 10 and is currently among the top four startups in Track 2 of the Orange Corners Innovation Fund (OCIF) Iraq programme.

Hady El Samra, Head of Investments & Programs at Iraq Venture Partners (IVP), said the company had demonstrated strong resilience and operational development, with a clear understanding of how to scale sustainably.

"This investment allowed us not only to grow, but also to build stability during a very challenging economic period for the market," said Muhammad Al-Sultan.
