Iraq's Ministry of Planning has completed 209 transactions to issue or renew contractor classification certificates, following the 142nd session of its Contractors Classification Committee.
According to the Ministry of Planning, the session was chaired by the Ministry's Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs and Director General of the Legal Department, Dr. Hanaa Ismail Al-Asadi, who also heads the committee.
The committee issued first-time classifications to 47 companies after they met legal and technical requirements and submitted evidence of completed works, while renewing certificates for a further 162 previously classified contracting companies and contractors.
Two contracting companies were also upgraded to a higher classification grade after a review of their files found they met the required criteria.
The session was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Industry and Minerals, and Construction, Housing and Municipalities and Public Works, along with Baghdad Municipality, the Iraqi Contractors Union and the Iraqi Engineers Union.
