How Do Businessmen Manage the Economy When They Hold Power? And Do They Shift the Principle of Economic Management from Patronage to Added Value?

There is often an almost fixed public perception when businessmen take power in their countries - a perception that can extend to the conviction that power will be harnessed for the businessman's own benefit. However, some fail to recognise that there are legal, legislative and ethical, and even practical, constraints on businessmen exercising power, falling under what is known as the principle of Conflict of Interest.

This is a matter that warrants attention, particularly as Iraq today faces a new situation in the exercise of power in the country: a businessman taking charge of economic, political and social affairs, and sovereignty in general, as a symbol of the Iraqi state.
