Electronic applications for loans from the Iraqi Housing Fund are to open on 23 August for a four-day period, with each day allocated to a different group of governorates. Applications open at 10am on the day assigned to each governorate.
According to the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, the schedule is as follows:
- 23 August: Baghdad, Najaf, Salah al-Din, Nineveh, Kirkuk, Anbar
- 24 August: Dhi Qar, Babil, Karbala
- 25 August: Basra, Diwaniyah, Diyala
- 26 August: Maysan, Muthanna, Wasit
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the quota for each governorate is filled, with no exceptions. Applications can be submitted via https://ihf.moch.gov.iq.
Applicants must upload the front face of the following documents: national ID card, building permit, and property deed. Applications will be rejected if the submitted data and documents do not match.
Eligibility conditions include:
- Minimum land area of 100 m²
- Minimum construction area of 65 m²
- Applicant age between 18 and 65
Two loan types are available, both at IQD 60 million (USD 46,000) and repayable over 15 years: an interest-free loan, and a loan with a 2% declining interest rate. Lending is subject to available liquidity and financial allocations.
